Carbon Offroad has launched what it says is one of the largest bore shock systems available for Amarok

Carbon Offroad says it is proud to release its Volkswagen Amarok platform MT2.5 big bore premium monotube coil over and rear shock.
It says this project is the result of a three-year R and D program, which has concluded with one of the largest bore shock systems available anywhere in the world for the Amarok platform.
Renowned as a difficult suspension system to work with, the team at Carbon Offroad says they carefully identified limitations and opportunities to optimise a performance coilover system that would enhance vehicle characteristics over existing OE and other aftermarket options and simply be a OE replacement fitment.
Using steel shock housings, and a 6061 billet CNC seal head design which Carbon Offroad says has been proven for no leaks in over 200,000km of on road testing, the shock system has reportedly been able to address shaft seal leakage issues common across many other brands.
The system features a massive 65mm body, 18mm shock shaft with integrated bumpstop, and custom made aluminium coilover top mount.
All of this is partnered with Carbon Offroad’s custom made flat ground coilover coils.
Carbon Offroad says this system provides best in class ride quality for daily driving.
And for when conditions get bad, the large piston provides over double the damping force capability compared to a standard 35mm bore twin tube shock.
On road driving, braking, cornering and all other performance metrics are massively improved, and the vehicle will simply handle better than most drivers’ capabilities at the wheel, says Carbon Offroad.
The shocks are fully rebuildable and Carbon Offroad provides shock rebuild services from its headquarters, located in Coomera on the Gold Coast.
Carbon Offroad says the shock system is also “extremely well priced, providing offroad racing level performance for a fraction of the cost of other more established brands.”
“The quality of manufacturing on this shock system is as good as world leading premium shock brands,” it added.
The system is available to be shipped worldwide.
It can be optimised for either 2.0L or 3.0L engine variants and various accessory loads through the availability of a number of coil rates in stock.
