CENTURY YUASA APPOINTS NEW AUTOMOTIVE GENERAL MANAGER
Shaun O’Brien has been appointed General Manager of Automotive
After more than 40 years in the Automotive industry and 20 years at Century Yuasa Batteries, General Manager of Automotive, Stu Stanners, has stepped down from the role in preparation for his impending retirement.
Under Stu’s tenure, Century Yuasa’s automotive division has gone from strength to strength, solidifying the company’s position as one of Australia’s largest and most recognised automotive battery brands.
“I have enjoyed my ten years as GM in Australia and New Zealand along with my twenty years with the company, where has the time gone?” Stu mused.
“Without doubt the highlight has been the incredible people I have met over the years, and the life learnings and business connections I have made.”
Filling the General Manager position at Century Yuasa is Shaun O’Brien, who brings over 30 years of automotive experience to the role.
“Congratulations to Shaun on his well-deserved promotion,” Stu said.
“Shaun heads an amazingly talented Automotive team and I leave knowing the division is in excellent hands.”
Driven by a passion for the Automotive industry, Shaun has been the National Sales Manager for Century Yuasa in Australia for the past three years, and the State Manager in NSW for the 12 years prior.
He also manages the Auto Electrical Club (AEC), a Century Yuasa initiative to bring the Auto Electrical industry together.
Shaun started in the industry in general parts sales, progressing through key account management and sales management roles with leading industry distributors.
“It has been a privilege working for Century Yuasa for the past 15 years, and I look forward to continuing to develop the business across Australia and New Zealand,” Shaun said.
“Century Yuasa’s continued commitment to manufacturing in Australia and investment in staff development, allows the company to be a leader in the industry today and into the future.”
Away from the office, Shaun’s passions are focused on sport and family. Growing up in a Rugby League family, he is a diehard West Tigers supporter, and despite now residing in Brisbane, is definitely a New South Wales Blues man. Along with league, Shaun is also a keen follower of the Supercars and the English Premier League.
