START BATTERY MAINTENANCE

With REDARC’s smaller, lighter, and more powerful Manager Alpha

REDARC explains it is excited to introduce its new range of power management systems, the Manager Alpha.
Available in 50A, 75A, and 100A capacities, REDARC says this revolutionary three-way battery charger redefines mobile power management.
It says the Manager is the only charger to charge from AC, DC, and solar, allowing users to charge while they drive, while plugged in at camp, or from the sun, making it the ideal companion no matter where they are.
With the Manager Alpha onboard, REDARC says you’ll never be without a charging option.
The Manager Alpha is equipped with the ability to maintain the vehicle start battery through two different operations, “Start Battery Charge Mode” and “Start Battery Recovery Mode.”

Start Battery Charge Mode
When the auxiliary battery is fully charged the Manager Alpha can begin topping up the vehicle’s start batter from solar and AC sources.
In this mode, the Manager Alpha delivers up to 25A (unless the DC Current Limit is configured below 25A) to the start battery, aiming to charge the start battery up to 12.8V.

Start Battery Recovery Mode
In the event of a flat start battery, the Manager Alpha can be initiated to use auxiliary battery power to charge the start battery.
At the end of this 15-minute cycle, the user will be able to start the vehicle, provided the start battery has not critically failed.
When in this Mode, the Manager delivers 50A to the start battery (unless the DC Current Limit is configured below 50A), aiming to charge the start battery up to 14.6V.
For the Start battery maintenance features to be useful, the vehicle input to the Manager Alpha needs to be a direct connection to the battery positive terminal.
REDARC says this means isolators and relays must not be connected between the Start battery and Manager Alpha.
Further, REDARC states that at up to 55 percent smaller and 28 percent lighter than comparable competitor systems, and tested to the toughest vibration standards in the world, the Manager Alpha is ready for adventure.
With the Manager Alpha onboard, the company says running out of power will never be an issue again.
