BENDIX GIVES NEW 2.8L LANDCRUISER 70 A BOOST
Bendix has increased its range of Ultimate 4WD Brake Booster Upgrade kits to suit Toyota Landcruiser
The Bendix Ultimate 4WD Brake Booster Upgrade kit range has been expanded with the recent release of a booster for the latest four-cylinder, 2.8 liter model Toyota Landcruiser 70 Series.
Bendix says the upgrade is designed to increase braking performance by up to 30 percent, making it an attractive option for owners who use their Landcruisers to carry heavy loads or for towing, either in work or recreational situations.
ADR-approved and a direct ‘bolt-in’ replacement for the original equipment (OE) booster, Bendix says the Ultimate 4WD Brake Booster features a dual diaphragm design, that dramatically reduces the pedal effort required to bring the big Cruiser to a standstill.
While most OE brake boosters use a single diaphragm, Bendix says the Ultimate 4WD Brake Booster’s dual diaphragms work to effectively double the diaphragm surface area within the brake booster, without increasing the canister size. It states it also dramatically increases the vacuum pressure within the booster.
Thanks to its direct bolt-in design, fitting the Bendix Ultimate 4WD Brake Booster is said to be as simple as removing the factory-fitted brake booster, and replacing it with the Bendix Brake Booster upgrade which includes all necessary parts including hard lines – no further modifications are needed.
However, given that the brake booster forms an integral part of the braking system, to ensure safety, Bendix recommends that the upgrade is installed by a mechanic or braking professional.
