FROM STREET TO TRACK

Bendix’s racetrack learnings contribute to the products it develops for the road

Motorsport fans who follow the Supercars category would have seen the MSR Bendix Racing Team Chevrolet Camaro of Nick Percat circulating racetracks around the country last year in the brand’s distinct blue, black and white colour way.
The 2024 season marked Bendix’s foray into Australia’s preeminent racing category, after several years of supporting other series, including SuperUtes.
The team enjoyed consistent top 10 results, including race wins at the MSS Security Melbourne SuperSprint and NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint, with Nick eventually finishing the season in eighth position in the driver standings.
While Supercars and other race series use a control braking system that includes rotors, calipers and pads to maintain parity, as has been the case for many auto aftermarket manufacturers, Bendix’s racetrack learnings contribute to the products it develops for the road.
This extends to products including its Ultimate range of disc brake rotors and pads and Street Road Track Brake Pads. Or for owners looking for complete brake upgrade solutions for their fast street or track car, there are the Ultimate+ Performance Brake Upgrade Kits.
Many owners of sports cars who track their vehicles will modify their drives to improve lap times – often these modifications concentrate on engine, ECU and exhaust work to increase power, but impressive gains can also be made by improving a car’s braking and handling.
Available as either a front and rear kit, the front Ultimate+ Performance Brake Upgrade Kit includes two Ultimate Sports and Performance Disc Brake Rotors, a set of Ultimate+ Disc Brake Pads, and a set of Ultimate+ Brake hoses, plus ancillary products.
The rear kit includes a set of Ultimate Sports and Performance Disc Brake Rotors and Ultimate+ Disc Brake Pads – together they can help shave seconds off a lap, says Bendix.
FMP Group Australia – Bendix CEO, George Kyriakopoulos, said Bendix’s motorsport participation – especially most recently in Supercars – had provided the company with opportunities on several fronts.
“As the leading motorsport category and one of Australia and New Zealand’s most watched sports, Supercars is a natural fit for us. We are as passionate about cars as our customers,” George said.
“Supercars also provides Bendix with a fantastic platform on which to promote our range of braking solutions for sports and performance cars, as well as four-wheel-drives, passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles, to a targeted audience.
“And of course we get to enjoy the thrills of the racetrack.”
