Bendix and other auto part manufacturers engage in extensive ADR testing programs to make certain that the parts manufactured are fully ADR compliant.
Bendix says its engineers are familiar with the demanding Australian driving conditions and are committed to providing the best functionality within the bounds of the Australian Design Rules.
ADR tested and approved products from Bendix
Bendix offers a range of products that are ADR tested and approved.
This includes Bendix’s Ultimate 4WD Big Brake Upgrade Kits, designed to significantly improve performance compared to OE brake components.
The ADR testing process takes place at Bendix’s Ballarat, Victoria, Research and Design Centre and Manufacturing Facility.
The front kits feature 365mm diameter Ultimate 4WD Disc Brake Rotors. The kits also include Ultimate 4WD Brake Pads, Braided Break Hoses, and powerful Bendix Six-Piston monoblock calipers with a bracket mounting kit.
For the rear, Bendix offers its Ultimate 4WD Big Brake Upgrade Kit. This is a full drum to disc conversion kit to replace the OE drum assembly with the Bendix Ultimate 4WD disc rotors and hydraulic calipers.
The kit also includes replacement bearings and seals since all components from the vehicle axles will need to be removed.
Bendix says both kits are the product of multiple levels of testing to ensure top performance as well as ADR compliance.
The testing includes Finite Element Analysis to understand how the components react under a range of physical braking conditions.
There’s also in-vehicle testing involving various sensors, monitors, and other measurement equipment.
Bendix says the results are reviewed and validated by an independent vehicle engineering agency prior to products moving from the prototype phase to full production.
