ADRAD’s range of Jrone Turbochargers suit popular passenger, 4×4 and light commercial vehicles

ADRAD explains that Jrone turbochargers are produced by a world leading original equipment and aftermarket turbocharger manufacturer with accreditation to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
It says stringent quality control is implemented at every step of the manufacturing process to ensure these turbochargers provide reliable operation and long service life.
ADRAD states that Jrone’s fully assembled products feature higher tolerance, and a more precisely balanced Centre Housing Rotating Assembly (CHRA) compared with some found in OE parts.
It explains that a superior CHRA produces less vibration at high RPMs, which means reduced accumulated wear to the turbocharger over the course of its service life.
Further, high quality design and construction includes the use of nitride-hardened actuator components which also contributes to extending the product service life, says ADRAD.
Jrone turbochargers also feature aluminium compressor housing and cast-iron turbine housing, while elastic sealing gasket material in high temperature areas utilises a special alloy which is resistant to fatigue, heat, oxidation and corrosion. Gaskets are included with each turbocharger.
A number of turbochargers in the range feature rotary electric actuation (REA). This allows the vehicle’s ECU to control airflow in the turbocharger, offering faster response times than its pneumatic counterpart.
ADRAD says overall turbo control is also more precise due to on-board position sensing, stating that both of these factors combined help to improve engine performance, fuel efficiency and emissions control.
Other turbos in this range are Variable-Nozzle Turbochargers (VNT). Used predominantly in diesel applications, the VNT function uses small shifting vanes around the turbocharger’s turbine wheel that adjust the speed and direction of turbine gasses.
ADRAD says this is effective for minimising turbo lag, providing responsive throttle and improved torque at low speeds − and for preventing over-boosting at high speeds.
