AUSTRALIA-BASED CUSTOM-BUILT SHOCKS AND AFTER-SALES SUPPORT

The Bilstein Service Centre in Sydney provides nationwide services

Bilstein says its Australian Service Centre in Sydney is a reliable and tried-and-tested point of contact for all questions relating to the correct shock absorbers.
The 24-strong team can answer all practical workshop questions, both in the Bilstein workshop and online – customers from the general public as well as the trade can present their individual shock absorber challenges to the experts and receive customised solutions.
Bilstein says the team specialises in aftermarket sales of Bilstein products and is uniquely recognised as the country’s only certified Bilstein Tuning Centre (BTC) and Bilstein Service Centre (BSC).
The centre provides its services nationwide – local customers can drive their vehicles directly to the workshop and for those not within driving distance, customers typically remove the shocks and send them via courier.
Most custom work is coordinated through email, allowing the team to send and receive technical drawings to and from the customer using their expertise to assist in job efficiency and accuracy.
Services include after-sales support for a vast customer base and the creation of custom-built shocks.
Bilstein says every custom-built shock is designed, machined, prototyped, welded, rate-developed, and assembled entirely in-house at the Sydney facilities, ensuring the highest quality and performance.
The team manages the entire product homologation process too. Given the global approach, they handle all drawings and rate development in-house, making them fully self-sufficient in developing and homologating new vehicle products.
While the products cater to a range of applications, including on road use, racing, and off-road, a significant 75 percent of the sales are dedicated to 4WD off-road use.
Clients seek solutions for a wide range of needs and so the team has developed shock absorber solutions for various applications, including cars, trucks and buses, trains, race and rally vehicles, suspension bridges, dance floors, industrial washing machines, vehicle boom mounts for movie cameras, stunt vehicles, delta wing suppressors, aircraft landing gear, and even reusable launch platforms for satellite deployment.
Sydney Shocks is organised into several key departments and employs a dedicated team of 24 personnel.
The sales team handles all sales inquiries and serves as the frontline of customer engagement.
Nearby are the Bilstein Tuning Centre (BTC) and Bilstein Service Centre (BSC) which ensure communication and coordination across the entire operation.
The centre accommodates technicians, welders, machinists and mechanical engineers, with the four senior technicians alone bringing a combined experience of over 185 years, ensuring top-notch expertise and service.
