AUTOMECHANIKA SHANGHAI RESCHEDULED TO FEBRUARY 15-18, 2023

With the opening of borders in China, Automechanika Shanghai will now go ahead in February

Following the recent opening of the Chinese borders to international travellers without the need for quarantine, and in recognition of the automotive aftermarket industry’s calls for in-person business encounters, the organisers of Automechanika Shanghai have secured a new timeslot for the popular trade show.
The show will now be held from February 15-18, 2023, at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center.
“As the automotive industry is a core part of China’s economy and modernisation, we understand the importance of returning Automechanika Shanghai to the trade fair calendar for long-awaited marketing, trade, education and business exchanges,” Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd Deputy General Manager, Fiona Chiew, said.
“The engagement on AMS Live over the past few weeks reflects these growing needs in the market, which we aim to carry through to the physical show in February. I look forward to reconnecting with all our industry friends soon.”
Recently, the Chinese Government implemented a number of policies to encourage market growth and technological upgrades in the automotive industry.
For example, ongoing incentives and tax breaks on sales aim to boost demand even further, particularly in the new energy vehicle sector.
Forecasts for the year ahead indicate 23.8 and 3.8 million passenger and commercial vehicles sales, respectively, and a 35 percent year-on-year increase in new energy vehicle orders.
Automechanika Shanghai is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd (Sinomachint).
“China’s automotive industry is gradually becoming one of the forerunners in the global market on account of policies under the 20th National Congress and the four new automotive modernisations,” China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd General Manager, Li Zhang, said.
“From this perspective, technological advancement and changing consumer habits are injecting momentum into the domestic market.
“This includes progress in connectivity and new energy, in addition to the rapid development of home-grown electric vehicle brands.”
In this regard, domestic and overseas participants can expect to see the most pressing topics and fast-moving trends in the Innovation4Mobility Showcase during Automechanika Shanghai – Shenzhen Edition.
Areas across the fairground will address the rise of electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, advanced technologies, green repair, developments in the logistics industry, and more.
