CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF INNOVATION IN AIR SUSPENSION
Airbag Man is celebrating this milestone in 2025
Reaching a 30-year milestone is a solid achievement for any business, and for Airbag Man, those behind the company say it is a testament to three decades of innovation, growth, and dedication to quality.
Since its inception in 1995, Airbag Man says it has pioneered the air suspension industry, creating reliable, high-quality products for a wide range of applications, from 4WDs and heavy vehicles to caravans and industrial equipment.
“It has been an incredible ride,” Airbag Man General Manager, Ben Clamp, said.
“Thirty years ago, Airbag Man was operated out of the family home and quickly grew, moving into three new facilities by 2009.
“Fast forward to 2020, we constructed our own purpose-built facility, which was more than three times the size of the current building at the time.
“As a three-year-old, I attended shows with my dad (Airbag Man Founder and Managing Director, Richard Clamp).
“Now as the General Manager at 33 years old, I look back at the absolute grind my parents went through to provide for our family and grow the business from the ground up – at the hard work, dedication and innovation achieved by the whole team, past and present.
“I am so proud of the business and, as we call it, ‘our Airbag Man family.’”
Airbag Man initially gained traction supplying replacement airbags for heavy vehicles in Australia, but the company really came into its own by designing vehicle-specific air suspension assist kits for 4WDs.
These kits provide users with the ability to adjust their vehicle’s ride height and improve handling, offering an innovative solution that filled a significant gap in the market.
Outside the HV and 4WD applications Airbag Man is widely known for, some of the places its products pop up might just surprise you.
Applications extend as far and wide as industrial and agricultural machinery, emergency vehicles, mobility, military, transport, rail, and even movie special effects.
Over the years, the company expanded its product range to an impressive 7,000 line items (and growing), including compressors, air tanks, air struts, lift axle valves, and more.
As the industry evolved, so did Airbag Man. The company invested heavily in research and development to stay ahead of market trends, introducing new technologies and custom applications that have set new standards for durability and performance in air suspension systems.
Airbag Man credits much of its success to a dedication to innovation.
“Our engineering team is second to none,” Ben said.
“We’ve always had a strong focus on R&D, ensuring that we keep up with new vehicle releases and bring new products to market as soon as possible to meet customer demand.
“This approach has been instrumental in our longevity and ongoing success.”
Airbag Man says its commitment to excellence extends beyond just its products.
The company prides itself on its customer service, offering expert advice and comprehensive support to ensure customers get the most out of their air suspension systems.
“Our customers are the heart of our business,” Ben said.
“We’ve built long-lasting relationships by providing solutions that truly add value, and that’s something we’ll continue to do moving forward.”
As Airbag Man enters its fourth decade, the company remains committed to its founding principles.
“Looking ahead, we’re focused on continuing to innovate and deliver products that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” Ben said.
“The next 30 years will be just as exciting as the first.”
Airbag Man says its 30-year milestone is a testament to its relentless pursuit of excellence, solidifying its place as a trusted leader in the air suspension industry.
