COOLDRIVE SUPPORTS THE WORLD’S BRIGHTEST AUTOMOTIVE APPRENTICES
The company provided essential tools and equipment for the Global Skills Challenge
CoolDrive Auto Parts says it was honoured to support the world’s brightest automotive apprentices as a supplier to the recent Global Skills Challenge – a four-day event which brought together 138 of the best young apprentices, trainees, and young professionals from across the globe.
Hosted by WorldSkills Australia, this international competition provided a platform for competitors to test their skills in preparation for the prestigious WorldSkills’ 47th International Competition which will be held at Lyon, France in September.
The Global Skills Challenge competitions were held across several TAFE locations throughout Melbourne in May, with representatives from 17 countries including the USA, China, the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Japan, France, and of course Australia, demonstrating their skills across 29 disciplines.
CoolDrive supported the automotive technology category by providing essential tools and equipment used in the competition.
“CoolDrive was incredibly proud to be a part of the recent Global Skills Challenge to support the world’s most talented young automotive apprentices and trainees, and to help facilitate an environment where they could display their capabilities and push the boundaries of their skills,” CoolDrive Auto Parts Executive Chairman, John Blanchard, said.
“These young apprentices and trainees are the future of our local automotive industry, and we wish them the very of best of luck for the WorldSkills Competition in France this September.”
The Australian team, the “Skillaroos,” consisted of 32 members, with 15 receiving medals for their efforts, putting Australia in second place on the overall medal tally.
