NEW KIDS SEATS PRODUCT FOR TOYOTA LANDCRUISER

Vehicle Engineering Australia has launched a new product suitable for the 300 Series

The Toyota Landcruiser 300 Series is configured as a seven seater, with two adults in the front row, three adults in the second row, and two adults in the third row, with the third row seat able to fold into the boot space to allow for a flat area immediately behind the second row of seats.
The second row of seats would be fitted with anchor points in the seatback, but Vehicle Engineering Australia says for those families who have more than three young children with who they want to travel by road, there is a real problem because the rear row cannot be fitted with children’s seats as there is no Child Restraint Anchor Points (CRAs) and/or ISO Fix anchors fitted.
This means a ‘two adults, four small children’ family may need to take two vehicles.
To counter this problem, a new ‘three kids’ variant seat has been added to the Vehicle Engineering Australia range, suitable for three small children (with seated shoulder heights between 350 mm and 490 mm).
The new seat incorporates three CRAs and two ISO FIX baby seat securing lugs.
The seat frame is secured on either side by special location pins which locate and hold the seat in position.
Vehicle Engineering Australia says Finite Element Analysis has been used to confirm the strength of the three seat configuration and the mounting frame, and the developed seat has Registered Design status.
