PADTEX CAR FIRE BLANKET
A must have for all businesses working with EV/HEV/PHEV vehicles
Visscher Caravelle Australia has recently launched the Padtex car fire blanket into the Australian market, an important safety product for any workshop or dealership selling, servicing, repairing, or charging electric vehicles (EVs).
As published on the NSW Fire and Rescue website, “EVs are becoming more prevalent as consumers select greener transport options. EVs commonly contain lithium-ion batteries and come with associated risks and hazards (including fire and explosion, radiation, heat, chemical and electrical). An electric vehicle that has been involved in a collision, a fire, or has been submerged, must be treated with caution as the high voltage battery pack may be compromised. Damaged EV batteries may ignite hours, days, or even weeks after the initial incident.”
Manufactured and tested in Europe, Visscher Caravelle Australia says the Padtex car fire blanket is the best, efficient and safe solution for controlling the outbreak of fire in all vehicle engine types including internal combustion.
After contacting emergency services, the blanket is operated by two people. The blanket is opened and pulled over the vehicle, helping to stop the spread of fire and toxic gases/smoke – particularly important for EV thermal runaway fires.
This gives time for the emergency services to arrive, helping to mitigate the risk of injury and death, and damage to buildings and nearby vehicles.
Available in four sizes, 3x3m, 5x5m, 6x8m, 7x10m, applications range from e-scooters and pushbikes to SUVs and forklifts. Padtex also offers storage solutions with wall mount cabinets and carry bags available.
