POWER TO INFLUENCE

Australian performance businesses united in 2005 to form the Performance, Racing, and Tuning Council (PRTC)

Like guitar techs that tune instruments to suit the guitarist and the venue temperature, Performance, Racing and Tuning (PRT) professionals tune numerous vehicle systems to help drivers set up their car for their unique needs, and to suit the Australian climate.
PRTC members are working together to influence the future of the performance industry within Australia, and to create export opportunities.
The PRT community is a highly skilled and professional part of the Australian Automotive Aftermarket. Australian performance manufacturers are world leaders in engineering products for the global performance industry.
Our PRTC businesses produce an extensive list of performance products, including brake and clutch, suspension, rims, engines and engine components, fuel delivery systems, gearboxes and drivelines, hardware and software, tools and dynamic equipment.
Automotive performance products have a unique value proposition because they have aspirational demand, so they are potentially more profitable than the purchase of service and repair, which is seen as a necessity.
The PRTC re-launched with the ‘More Than Torque’ mantra to inspire and unite the performance part of the Australian economy.
Together we, as members of the PRTC, participate in lobbying against any political or economic threats to the performance segment of the Automotive Aftermarket.
Our PRTC steering committee is identifying innovative and entrepreneurial opportunities that are coming from changing social preferences and new technology, and are looking at ways to make the most of these opportunities.

Stay tuned for PRTC initiatives that promote growth and protect our segment, such as:
• Economic research
• Political activity
• Recruitment programs
• Training methods
• Directory of trusted businesses, and
• Social media campaigns

The PRTC steering committee is also considering bringing the industry together for networking events so we can share our experiences.
In the meantime, PRTC members are confident that the Australian performance industry will continue to grow profitably, and keep our customers smiling.
