PROJECT MU RANGE EXPANDS AT COOLDRIVE

The Project Mu range of high end brakes and braking products has expanded at CoolDrive Auto Parts

Originating in Japan, Project Mu is a specialist manufacturer with a focus on providing “the best quality braking products” for applications including street performance, track days, club racing, drifting, and professional motorsport.
Headlining the new products at CoolDrive are Project Mu’s SCR-Pro and SCR-GT brake rotors which are suitable for circuit use.
These rotors feature eight straight slots per side (16 in total) and employ a two-piece structure with a combination of an ultra-hard aluminium alloy bell housing coated with alumite and a high-alloy high-carbon FC cast-iron for “superior durability, heat resistance, and heat release.”
CoolDrive Auto Parts says this model has improved its crack-resistance dramatically and is lighter than genuine parts (excluding certain models for some vehicle types).
Complementing the SCR-Pro and SCR-GT is the SCR Pure Plus6, a one-piece rotor recommended for drivers who mainly do on-street sporty driving.
Constructed from FC cast iron, the SCR Pure Plus6 is heat-proof up to 600°C and features six round slots per side (12 in total) which reportedly offer a greater cleaning effect than straight counterparts and improve initial braking.
Project Mu’s CRD Club Racer rotors are also available at CoolDrive, sporting a single piece design with eight straight slots per side and designed for performance applications with a competitive price.
There is also the NS-EP brake pads for street driving, which CoolDrive Auto Parts says redefine the daily drive with unmatched reliability, stopping power, and low dust properties.
Engineered for everyday use with improved fade and abrasion resistance, the Project Mu NS-EP pads offer exceptional durability, smooth and quiet stops, and consistent performance in city traffic or winding roads.
Project Mu’s HC-EP brake pads are also available at CoolDrive, with the high-performance brake pads said to deliver top-tier performance on the track as well as the street.
Utilising a proprietary super graphite metallic friction material engineered for high heat resistance and optimal bite, the HC-EP pads deliver “unmatched” stopping power and fade resistance, says CoolDrive.
These pads are rated to an impressive 800°C, providing confidence and performance in the most demanding driving conditions.
While for racers, Project Mu offers its Club Racer PCR09 brake pads which are engineered for the dedicated racer and performance enthusiast.
Handcrafted in Japan for precision and quality, CoolDrive explains the PCR09 compound delivers “unparalleled” stopping power and endurance in competition conditions.
Designed to thrive under the most extreme conditions, these pads boast exceptional heat resistance and consistent bite through long sessions on the track.
Capping off the offerings at CoolDrive is the Project Mu G-four 335 brake fluid, a reliable synthetic brake fluid that combines an incredibly high boiling point (335°C dry and 221°C wet) with durability and maintainability.
CoolDrive is a global racing distributor for Project Mu Japan and the official distributor for Australia and New Zealand.
It says with a relentless commitment to quality, Project Mu brake pads, rotors, and other braking components are trusted by professional enthusiasts and racer worldwide.
Project Mu forms part of CoolDrive’s comprehensive braking range which includes products from other well-known brands such as Bremtec, Fremax, and Bosch, with customers able to address all their braking needs on BrakeBook, CoolDrive’s digital braking catalogue.
