RAS EVENT PRIORITISES INVESTING IN PEOPLE

Repco Authorised Service is helping workshops with their employee engagement

The demands and diversity of the modern consumer means the role of a Service Advisor has never been more critical to a workshop’s success.
Repco Authorised Service (RAS) says it has demonstrated its commitment to supporting its members’ workforce development with its inaugural Service Advisors event, bringing together more than 30 Service Advisors from across the country for two days of immersive learning and collaboration.
The event included unique behind-the-scenes tours of the new state of the art GPC Distribution Centre and Penrite Oil Company’s impressive new blending plant.
Training was conducted at both GPC’s Asia Pacific headquarters and Kangan Institute’s world class Automotive Centre of Excellence, where the participants engaged in interactive learning workshops designed to strengthen their skills in customer service, communication, and effective sales techniques.
But it wasn’t all business, with the group treated to some fun nights socialising along Melbourne’s vibrant Southbank district.
According to RAS National Manager, Peter Rogers, the event highlighted the importance of investing in people.
“Empowering these Service Advisors with knowledge and industry connection not only improves their ability to deliver great customer experiences, it also helps our workshop owners to foster a workplace culture of excellence and employee support,” Peter said.
“We are operating in a fiercely competitive labour market, and cultivating employee satisfaction is an increasingly important strategy which can provide substantial impact on a workshop’s profitably and ongoing success.”
RAS states it is Australia’s largest independent car service network.
The Service Advisor event extends the RAS program’s ongoing workforce development initiatives, which includes an award-winning apprentice engagement program, and a suite of new digital resources aimed at helping member workshops to recruit quality staff.
A comprehensive IR/HR training and staff development program is also being made available to RAS member workshops, with the 2025 intake commencing in March.
