REFLECTING WITH GRATITUDE

Capricorn’s David Fraser is reflecting on the past while looking forward to the future

David Fraser, Group CEO, Capricorn Society Ltd

With my retirement from Capricorn just around the corner, along with Capricorn’s 50th celebrations underway, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on the past and consider the future.
50 Years Strong is all about the people who make up the Capricorn community, from Members to Preferred Suppliers and everyone who has supported us over the past five decades. I have really enjoyed hearing how Capricorn has played a role in the success of so many businesses.
Although my chapter is drawing to a close, Capricorn’s great story continues – our work for our Members always drives us forward. If you haven’t done so already, explore these stories yourself by visiting cap.coop/50.
Speaking of the future, one of my highlights of the year is our Capricorn Rising Stars competition. It is a great reminder of the incredible talent this industry attracts. We had very strong applicants this year and an impressive top five in Cooper Bullin, Dylan Sneddon, Marko Graovac, Megan Toia and Shalako Hauraki. Congratulations to all of them.
One thing I always look for in Rising Stars nominees is a thirst to really make a difference in our industry, and our finalists had that ambition in spades. They are our industry’s future leaders and it’s encouraging to see the way they’re embracing the evolving nature of our industry. The future really is bright with young people like them coming through.
Finally, I am excited for our 2024 Gala Dinner and Tradeshows to begin. It is an opportunity for Capricorn to celebrate our 50th with our Members and Preferred Suppliers – don’t forget to book your tickets via myCAP.
