SWAN AUTO PARTS DRIVING CHANGE

The company proudly supports a number of charitable causes, including in the motorsport arena

Swan Auto Parts is an active supporter of a number of teams within the motorsport arena, with one such partnership – its support of Team 300Z in the Shitbox Rally – seeing it combine its commitment to supporting grassroots racers with its passion for supporting charitable causes.
Swan Auto Parts first backed Team 300Z in 2019, then known as Team Greg and Goldy, and after taking a break in 2023, the team returned to the rally in 2024.
For this year’s campaign to raise funds for cancer research, Swan Auto Parts donated ignition coils and other parts for the team’s 1991 Nissan 300ZX for both the Autumn Rally (2 May – 10 May, Canberra to Townsville) and the Mystery Box Rally (17 August – 22 August, Airlie Beach).
The Shitbox Rally concept, founded by James Freeman after he lost both parents to cancer, has so far raised more than 50 million dollars for cancer research, with each team raising at least $5000 to participate.
Every car in the event is purchased for under $1500, and Team 300Z’s yellow Nissan 300ZX was no exception, originally found with its engine in pieces.
In addition to raising funds for cancer research, the rally also provides a significant economic boost to the remote rural communities along the route.
Swan Auto Parts Marketing Manager, Steve Butrakoski, said Swan Auto Parts was very proud to be able to play a role in the raising of funds for cancer research while pursuing its passion for supporting independent racers in the pursuit of their goals.
“It is really important to us that we can support not only independent racers, but especially those who are making such a difference by participating in events such as the Shitbox Rally, which raises funds for such a valuable cause,” Steve said.
“Motorsport and automotive parts go hand in hand, so it makes sense that we would be involved in motorsport sponsorship, but unlike the corporate brands, we are dedicated to lending a hand to the teams who need it most.

“As an Australian independent automotive brand, we are passionate about supporting independent teams – we know from first-hand experience that running a business, or a race team, needs local help and support.
“While bigger brands focus on large teams, we are here to ensure smaller and independent teams get the assistance they deserve.
“These teams face more challenges but display incredible grit to enter and compete in motorsport.”
Steve says this commitment to independent competitors is paying off in more ways than one.
“We are making our way against the big brands because we believe in the power of grassroots racing,” Steve said.
“Our reward is the thrill of seeing our branding on their cars and the joy of knowing we’re backing the local talent.
“Plus, it gives us exposure and shows the community that we support the independent teams who embody the spirit of motorsport.
“Our sponsorship of independent motorsport teams is a testament to our commitment to our customers and companies who share our vision.”
It isn’t just in its racers that Swan Auto Parts seeks to support ‘the independents.’
“We strive to be recognised as an authentic, independent brand that offers unparalleled customer service and competitive pricing,” Steve said.
“We see our customers as individuals, not just corporate numbers.
“As an brand supportive of motorsport, we wholeheartedly encourage anyone with a passion for it to pursue their dreams.”

Steve is quick to encourage anyone looking to make a move into the motorsport scene to do so, stating that Swan Auto Parts will be there to assist.
“Whether it’s a pastime pursuit, a passion project, or a semi/full career move, the rewards of creating and participating in motorsport are immense,” Steve said.
“There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve fought, struggled, and ultimately achieved your goal.
“And when you decide to take the leap into motorsport, Swan Automotive Parts will be there to offer a helping hand. We always encourage locals to support independent and local race teams.”
Alongside Team 300Z and its Shitbox Rally pursuits, Swan Auto Parts also supports BlueDog Racing and its 14 year old driver Harrison Turnbull in the Junior Sedans, husband and wife team Garage of Awesome Racing in the rallying, and Vivid Motorsport driver Jason Selmen.
Swan Auto Parts’ charitable commitments also extend beyond cancer research, with 2024 marking the fifth consecutive year that it has supported The Christmas Party Melbourne, a heartwarming event that provides children with disabilities and complex needs a day of unforgettable joy.
Held annually, it features celebrity stage shows, fun rides, interactive games, delicious food, face painting, and more. The highlight is Santa’s Toy Room, where each child receives three brand new, high-quality toys.
