In recent times ZF’s Aftermarket Division has focused on developing products specifically for the e-Drivetrain market, which has resulted in many new innovations, including the TRW Electric Blue brake pad.
ZF says the TRW Electric Blue brake pad was the world’s first aftermarket brake pad for electric and hybrid vehicles.
It has been NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) tested and is proven to create less noise and vibration.
The Electric Blue brake pad has been made with a “revolutionary” FMG 53 material that produces less NVH compared to standard material when supported by noise damping accessories.
This is of significant benefit for electric vehicles as noises can be heard more clearly due to the lack of engine noise.
The TRW Electric Blue also emits less dust into the atmosphere with the combination of the bespoke brake pad material and blue shims emitting up to 45 percent less particulate emissions during the braking process.
ZF says further proof of its sustainability is that Electric Blue also emits less harmful metals (such as copper) which can pollute waterways.
