In August 2024, Viva Energy Australia and Shell Lubricants celebrated 10 years of partnership in Australia.
Shell Lubricants has also been named the number one global lubricants supplier for 17 consecutive years by Kline and Company, with significant investment into technology and innovation for lubricants, oils and greases.
Viva Energy says its partnership with Shell Lubricants has enabled it to offer a range of technologically advanced products including Shell Helix fully synthetic motor oils.
It explains these oils are manufactured from 100 percent synthetic base stock with high quality additives to achieve higher performance; stating that innovation, product application and technical collaboration are at the heart of Shell lubricants.
“Shell works closely with OEMs during the engine development process to ensure that Shell Helix motor oils are designed with their specific engines in mind,” Viva Energy Technical Specialist, Silvana Farrugia, said.
“One of the main factors that distinguish Shell from its competition is that they develop their own motor oils which are subject to rigorous testing in special Shell technology centres.”
From smaller independent workshops or automotive distributors, to the high demand of larger workshops, Shell Lubricants and Viva Energy has been at the forefront, ensuring the smooth operation of critical machinery and equipment.

Looking ahead, both parties say they are committed to advancing sustainable solutions, with lubricants playing a vital role in aiding customers to minimise their carbon footprint. 
“We are excited about initiatives such as reducing waste through the development of sustainable packaging and circular solutions, as well as delivering more sustainable options through our range of Carbon Neutral lubricants and options for Hybrid or EV vehicles,” Craig said.
