Just like the focus the Automotive Aftermarket has on supporting environmentally responsible programs to manage waste and recycling items in the workshop, Megabus believes it is important to have a look at simple ways to support the environment and lower your business costs.
One of the biggest areas where a workshop can become more environmentally friendly is to reduce printing.
This is an opportunity to reduce costs, become more efficient and provide a great customer experience.
Megabus says some businesses have reported that they have saved hundreds of dollars a month by eliminating paper and printer toner – over a year that can equate to thousands of dollars to your bottom line.
The entire customer engagement can be paperless – here are six ways that Megabus recommends workshops benefit from straight away.
- Quoting: replace printing quotes with digital quotations, allowing your customers to view the quote on their mobile device and review product and pricing information.
- Work authorisation: sending a digital work authorisation to a mobile device for a customer to approve plus any additional work that may be required.
- Job cards: all the details of a job card can be presented on a tablet for technicians to view work to be performed, take images or video of the vehicle and record information electronically rather than writing on a paper job card.
- Tax invoice: send your invoices via SMS or email, great for customers to have electronic access rather than a printed invoice.
- Customer statements: if the customer has a trading account, then their statement can be sent electronically. A summary of each invoice relating to the statement can be sent with the statement to stop customers needing to call you to obtain missing invoices – providing a quicker turnaround with the reconciliation, and payment and ultimately your cashflow.
- Supplier invoices/credits: many suppliers now provide their invoices and credits electronically which means that you can update your inventory without the need for a paper tax invoice which will save you countless hours of manual typing.
